Indiana among states with turtle salmonella case

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana is on the list of states where someone has gotten salmonella from a turtle. The CDC last week said that 21 people in 13 states have gotten sick from pet turtles. Indiana has one case.

Michigan also has one case of turtle-linked salmonella, while Illinois has two. The CDC says people need to wash their hands after handling turtles, and should never kiss or snuggle them.
