FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say one man is dead after he was hit while on his motorcycle overnight.
On Friday, October18, 2019, at 12:44 a.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Hanna St. and E. Rudisll Blvd on a report of an injury accident involving a motorcycle. Officers arrived and located an adult male/ motorcycle rider down on the ground. The adult male was initially determined to be in critical condition, but was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Initial information indicated that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on E. Rudisill Blvd when Cadillac that was traveling westbound on E. Rudisill Blvd attempted to make a southbound turn onto Hanna Street in front of the motorcycle, causing the two vehicles to collide. No other vehicles were involved and the driver of the Cadillac was not injured.

At this point, police say alcohol is believed to be a factor on behalf of the Cadillac driver. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the Cadillac, an adult male, remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Any criminal charges, if appropriate, will be decided up at the conclusion of the investigation.

The exact cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the decedent, will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
